    College and Career Readiness Regional Campus @Thomas Edison High School of Technology

    Thomas Edison High School of Technology is unique among Montgomery County public high schools. Students enrolled in all MCPS comprehensive high schools may apply for enrollment in one of Edison’s eighteen highly acclaimed career and technology education programs.

    Students attend Edison every day for three class periods (2 1/4 hours), earn 1 ½ credits per semester, and transportation is provided. In addition to offering valuable professional certifications and licenses, many programs are articulated with colleges and universities for college credit.

    Rising Grade 11 (current Grade 10) students can take advantage of available career programs by applying to Thomas Edison High School of Technology to attend on a part-time basis in Grades 11-12. In this model, students remain enrolled in their home school for core coursework and attend the Edison program for a portion of the day. Once enrolled, students are expected to complete the full program of study. Transportation is provided daily from the student’s home school.

    Countywide programs are available to students from all 25 high schools. Regional programs are available for an interest application to students from the following clusters: Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Winston Churchill, Walter Johnson, Richard Montgomery, Rockville, Sherwood, Walt Whitman, Thomas S. Wootton, Northeast Consortium (NEC)- Paint Branch, Springbrook, Blake, and Downcounty Consortium (DCC) – Blair, Einstein, Northwood, Kennedy, Wheaton for programs not offered in the student’s home school.

    • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
    • Architecture
    • Cosmetology ( Available to rising Grade 10 students)

    • Healthcare Professions
    • Restaurant Management/Culinary Arts
    • Graphic Design
    • Law Enforcement and Leadership

    Over seventy percent of Edison students plan to attend colleges, universities, and technical schools. Many Edison graduates continue on their same career pathways and/or use their skills to help pay for college expenses. Edison is the perfect choice: students receive all the benefits offered at their comprehensive high schools as well as a valuable Edison capstone experience.

    Delayed Opening/Early Dismissal
    Please Note:  Due to the pandemic, please go by MCPS Alert notices.
     
    All staff and students should monitor public announcements regarding delayed opening or emergency closing of schools.  Delayed opening and/or early dismissal are authorized by the MCPS superintendent of schools.
    • Delayed Opening - No AM Session at TEHST.  PM Session operates 12:05pm - 1:50pm.
    • Early dismissal - AM Session meets as usual.  PM Session is canceled.
    For all delayed openings or early dismissal situations, TEHST will follow directives issued by the superintendent of schools.
