Shoshanah Drake- Full Time General Music Teacher
Mrs. Drake is in her 26th year of teaching music. She is returning to Beall after working as a Consulting Teacher in MCPS for 3 years mentoring new and tenured teachers and taught general/vocal music most recently teaching at Lake Seneca Elementary School. Ms. Drake is an active member of several professional organizations including Maryland Music Educators Association (MMEA)and American Orff Schulwerk Association (AOSA). She is a past president of the Middle Atlantic chapter and works with Maryland General Music Teachers Association. Mrs. Drake presents workshops at local, state, and national conferences. She writes general music curriculum for MCPS and is piloting the curriculum at Beall. She co-teaches Level I Orff Schulwerk certification classes at George Mason University and was the recipient of the 2014 MMEA Outstanding Music Educator of the Year award. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son and loves watching hockey.

Jill Kanowith - Instrumental Music Teacher
Jill Kanowith has been teaching Instrumental Music in MCPS for 18 years. A native of Michigan, she holds degrees in flute performance from The University of Michigan and the Peabody Conservatory of Music. She completed her education certification at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and Towson University. Mrs. Kanowith lives in Ellicott City with her husband Matt, two boys Ben and Jonah, one dog named Daisy and a hamster named Waffles.
