On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, middle and high school students from across MCPS will vote on the next Student Member of the Board of Education. The two finalists are Mr. Sami Saeed (Junior, Richard Montgomery High School) and Mr. Yoseph Zerihun (Junior, Springbrook High School). Choose Respect - April 11-16, 2023

Choose Respect Montgomery is hosting SSL experiences to teach about the importance of healthy dating relationships both virtually and in person. Virtual experiences will be held from April 10th - April 14, 2023 and students can earn up to 5 SSL hours. The in-person RespectFEST will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 1 - 4 pm at the Wheaton Recreation Community Center. Students can earn 3 SSL hours. Youth Climate Summit

Montgomery County Public Schools is hosting the 2nd annual Youth Climate Summit on April 22nd from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Tilden Middle School. This event is an education-packed conference designed to teach MCPS middle and high school students about climate change and important information to encourage climate action. SSL Updates and Opportunities

All MCPS students must earn 75 SSL hours to graduate from high school. SSL forms (https://bit.ly/SSLReflection) should be submitted to the school’s SSL coordinator no later than the required deadline of June 2, 2023. Maryland Center for School Safety Art Showcase and Competition
