*Semester A half-credit courses will be offered in Session 1 and Semester B half-credit courses will be offered in Session 2

 

The following CTE courses will be offered in a hybrid format during sessions 1 & 2. Classes will be virtual on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and are in-person every Wednesday.

Internship WBL2004A/B or the CTE Internship Course code related to your CTE program. Students who would like to complete an internship during summer school should work with the Internship Coordinator at their home school to identify leads. Students should be working at least 75 hours per summer school session to earn credit.

CTE Reminders by course include;

Internship & Apprenticeship

  • Rising Grade 11 and 12 students from all MCPS high schools are eligible to enroll for a summer Internship or Apprenticeship course.
  • Students enrolling in an Internship for elective credit will register for Internship WBL2004A/B.
  • Students enrolling in an Internship course to complete a CTE Program of Study will need to enroll for the Internship course code linked to the CTE Program of Study they are enrolled in.
  • Students enrolled in the Apprenticeship Maryland Program will register for Apprenticeship Work Based Learning 2 A/B which is WBL2010 A/B.
  • Students will need to work with an Internship Coordinator(IC) to identify the employer they will be completing their Internship or Apprenticeship Work Based Learning hours with by Friday, June 24, 2022.
  • Work Based Learning hours completed with an employer will be supervised by the IC and the IC will need to know the student’s work schedule.
  • The IC will communicate with students enrolled in Internship when the course seminars will be scheduled to take place.

Introduction to Engineering Design TEC2017A/B

Students attending the following high schools are eligible to enroll in this course;

  • Bethesda Chevy-Chase, Clarksburg, Magruder, Paint Branch, Poolesville, Quince Orchard, Rockville, Seneca Valley, Sherwood, Springbrook, Whitman, Watkins Mill and Wheaton High Schools.
  • If seats are available, students from other high schools will be able to enroll in this course to earn their technology credit for graduation.

Foundations of Medical & Health Science BHP2015A/B

Students attending the following high schools are eligible to enroll in this course;

  • Clarksburg, Magruder, Kennedy, Paint Branch, Seneca Valley, Sherwood and Watkins Mill High Schools.

Entrepreneurship and Business Management BMF2026A/B

Students attending the following high schools are eligible to enroll in this course;

  • Einstein, Magruder, Gaithersburg, Blake, Kennedy, Blair, Northwest, Northwood, Paint Branch, Sherwood and Churchill High Schools.

Guided Research for Law, Government, Public Safety and Administration PGS2011A/B

Students attending the following high schools are eligible to enroll in this course;

  • Springbrook, Blair, Northwood and Quince Orchard High Schools.
  • Class will be in-person Monday-Thursday and Fridays will be HYBRID (online via Zoom & Independent Work). Please check the schedule below for the weekly class location:
    • Week 1 - Wheaton HS
    • Week 2 - Wheaton HS
    • Week 3 - Montgomery College Rockville Campus
