Rec Zone- Starting Dates to be Announced
Montgomery County Recreation is enthused to be back at Watkins Mill HS for its 4th year of Rec Zone after school enrichment programming. The new session of Rec Zone, beginning (date TBA) after-school for all students. After school programs will run Monday through Thursday, 2:30pm-5:00 pm in the cafeteria (meals will be served), media center, and other classrooms (TBD). Recreation will be coordinating all programs including but not limited to: academic support/homework center, basics of cosmetology, Latin and hip-hop Dance, engineering, fitness training, art, sports and more!
All students are encouraged to participate on a drop-in basis. By signing-up, students have the opportunity to experience fun, purposeful programs in a safe and structured environment which will assist them in developing relationships, exploring their creativity, strengthening independence and enhancing leadership skills. Students will be allowed to come and go from other school activities, through a sign-in/sign-out process. For example, students can go to High School Plus or another school activity, then attend Rec Zone from 4:00pm-5:00pm, or attend Rec Zone 2:30pm-4:00pm and then go to another activity.
Activity buses will run at 4:15pm and 5:00pm Monday through Thursday, and school security will be in the building until 5:15pm daily.
To participate in the Rec Zone, stop by the gym during lunch, visit the main office or visit the cafeteria after school to sign-up and begin.
