Dear SSIMS Parents,
Welcome to Silver Spring International Middle School (SSIMS)! We are a diverse community of approximately 1150 students representing more than 40 countries. Our International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, and French and Spanish Immersion programs engage students in learning about the world and developing critical thinking skills. The PTSA is an important and energetic part of the SSIMS community. We’re committed to supporting every student, teacher and staff member at our school so that all students have what they need to thrive and succeed.
It’s going to be a great year at SSIMS. We have a tremendous school and PTSA leadership team, committed and dynamic teachers, and amazing students and dedicated families. We look forward to seeing you in-person at the school as an active volunteer and member of the PTSA. We hope that you will embrace this wonderful community and share your skills and expertise with us. You play an important part in making SSIMS the best school in the county!
Our signature event, the Jag Jog, is a community fun run for the whole school and is our major fundraising event. SSIMS students, faculty and staff will run, walk, jog and skip around our track to raise money for the school. Please be on the lookout for how you can help!

Join the SSIMS PTSA listserv today so that we may share information, get immediate feedback, and stay in touch on important issues. You can sign up by sending an email to SSIMSptsa+subscribe@groups.io and include your affiliation with the school in the body of the email (for example, "I'm a guardian of a SSIMS 6th-grade student.").
PTSA meetings are generally held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. Meeting details are circulated using the listserv and the weekly Jaguar newsletter. We hope to see you there.
