Instrumental Music with Ms. Shupe

Hi! I’m Ms. Shupe and I am the Instrumental Teacher at Seven Locks Elementary.  

All children in grades four and five are eligible to enroll in instrumental music. Students may choose from violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, and percussion. Students will learn how to properly play their instrument as well as how to read music.  Each instrumental class meets every Wednesday for thirty minutes during the school day. We will have two concerts throughout the year, one in the winter and one in the spring.

Though choosing to play an instrument is a big decision, it can be very fun and rewarding! Many students go on to play their instrument in middle and high school. We have a great time in instrumental music, and hope you’ll join the Seven Locks band or orchestra this year!
