Meet the Kindergarten Teachers
Mrs. Mills:
I was born and raised in Montgomery County. After graduating from Good Counsel High School, I studied Literature, Sociology, and Social Work at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. Recognizing that teaching was my true calling, I returned to Maryland and earned a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Hood College. I also have a Master’s in Elementary Reading and Mathematics. I was an AmeriCorps volunteer and teacher in a 5th grade classroom in Frederick county for a year before being welcomed by the Sequoyah community as a 2nd grade inclusion teacher. The following year I joined the kindergarten team, where I have remained for the past 17 years. The responsibility of supporting five and six-year-olds develop emotional, social, and academic skills is a true joy for me to facilitate. I enjoy spending time with my husband John, my eleven-year-old son Jake, and our new puppy Max!
