English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
The goal of the ESOL programs is to provide speakers of other languages with planned daily instruction for the acquisition of English. ESOL instruction is an essential, integrated part of the students' academic program. Delivery of ESOL instruction is differentiated to accomodate the students' range of English proficiency. It includes both "pull-out" and "plug-in" programs and also provides support in the transition from explicit ESOL instruction to modified general classroom curriculum. An additional ESOL program is described below. Almost 30% of Rolling Terrace students receive ESOL instruction.
Acquisition of Basic Language skills in English (ABLE)
The primary goal of ABLE is to provide students with the necessary English language skills to enable them to participate more fully in general education classes.
