Lunar New Year, 2013--Year of the Snake

The Year of the Snake begins on February 10, 2013.  Our school will mark the new year with an in-school celebration on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.

Our New Year program aligns with Maryland State foreign language indicators to engage in conversations, interpret and present basic information about festivals and celebrations in Chinese-speaking countries (1.1, 1.2, 1.3) and to introduce New Year customs and practices from Chinese cultural perspectives (2.1).

Lunar New Year, 2012--Year of the Dragon

The Year of the Dragon began on January 23, 2012.   We observed the Lunar New Year with an in-school peformance and an evening performance for family, friends and visitors.  Our immersion students also hosted an all-day museum for our school.
