Counselor's Corner

Meet Your Counselor

My name is Tiffany Heath and I LOVE what I do.  Elementary school is such an amazing period of growth for children. Yes they are growing like weeds during this time, but they are also learning how to regulate their emotions, have healthy peer interactions, and just figuring out where they belong in the world. My goal when working with students is to give them the tools to be their own problem solver. Using a Solution Focused approach, I don’t just give students the tools they need to be successful, but we discover what works best  for them together. Each student is unique and every path to success looks different.

The School Counseling Program

Schoolwide Programs

At Mill Creek Towne, our Dragons strive to be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Using Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) we acknowledge students' hard work to meet school expectations. This program allows our students to understand and practice the behaviors that are expected of them in all areas of social and academic settings.

Classroom Guidance

I provide monthly classroom lessons to discuss topics that promote self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship skills. These lessons provide students the opportunity to learn about the topic, see it modeled, and practice the skills.

Individual and small group counseling

Short-term, individual and small group counseling may cover topics such as worry, friendship skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation. Referrals to the counseling office are initiated based on student, teacher, or parent concerns. Any student involved in small group or short-term individual counseling will need parent/guardian approval.
