Volunteer Training
All volunteers must complete a mandatory training before assisting at school.
Information Available in Other Languages
MCPS makes much of its information available in different languages.
Registration for Kindergarten (Fall 2023) and Kindergarten Orientation has opened! If you have questions, please contact Jaleah Green, Attendance Secretary.
Check out this slideshow to see information shared at our Kindergarten Orientation in April.
Please see the bus schedules linked below for the upcoming school year.
Please note that the four-digit routing numbers displayed in the windows on the side of the bus identify which bus a child should ride, not the numbers painted on the front and/or back of the bus. Adjustments in the routes or times expected for bus arrivals are common during the first week of school, as it is difficult to determine the exact time for a stop until the bus drivers know how many students will be boarding at each bus stop. If you have any questions regarding the bus schedules, please don’t hesitate to contact the Transportation Office as 240-740-6580.
Teachers have prepared a list of school supplies that they would like students to have. Please label your child’s supplies and belongings.
We are committed to providing all students, regardless of their economic circumstances, with full access to the instructional program. If you need assistance for any requested expense, or with providing the organizational tools and personal supplies, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Terry King, one of our school counselors.

We are excited to bring back parents who would like to volunteer in school! The school system has a few requirements for anyone who would like to volunteer. Below are two steps volunteers will need to complete prior to volunteering in school.
New Volunteers:
Current Volunteers:
Volunteers need to take the Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect training every three years. If you took the training during the 2019-2020 school year or before, you will need to take the training again. Directions for how to access the volunteer training can be found here. Page 8 of this guide provides instructions on how to complete the COVID-19 Vaccination attestation and how to upload your vaccination certificate.
Once these requirements have been met, our staff will be able to have volunteers return to their rooms, as needed, to assist in the classroom or in other areas of the building. The new vaccination portal opened September 20. The school system will update the volunteer list on October 1st for individual schools listing those volunteers who have completed both steps.
Technology Resources
Please look at our Technology Resources Guide for information on accessing StudentVue, Google Drive, myMCPS Classroom (Canvas), and Zoom.
Maryland Safe Schools
If you have a safety concern for your student, please use the Maryland Safe Schools Tipline. The tipline is a safe, anonymous place to report physical, emotional, and environmental student safety concerns.
Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on household size and income. They may also qualify if they are receiving Food Supplement Program (FSP) or Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) benefits. Families may apply for meal benefits by completing an Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals for the current school year.
Apply online NOW at MySchoolApps.com (Translations available)
Federal eligibility guidelines change each school year; therefore a new application must be submitted each school year. All students in the family should be listed on one household application. A notice will be mailed home for each student if you are approved for meal benefits or do not qualify for meal benefits. Please keep this important document for your records and use throughout the school year. Families may apply for meal benefits at any time during the school year.
Households that are unable to apply online should contact the Division of Food and Nutrition Services at 301-284-4900.
