Stephen Knolls Receives Recertification in the Green Schools Award Program
Nationally recognized, the Maryland Green Schools Award Program (MDGS) allows schools and their community to evaluate their efforts in environmental sustainability. Participating schools empower youth to make changes to reduce environmental impact, encourage sustainability and foster environmental literacy.
Maryland Green Schools benefit from the instructional support and partnership of Green Centers and Green Leaders. Green Schools have access to an extensive network of partners in their community and statewide resources.
On June 1st, 2020; Stephen Knolls School was awarded recertification by the the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE). Over the past two to four years, Stephen Knolls has demonstrated and documented a continuous effort to integrate sustainable environmental management practices, environmental education curriculum, professional development opportunities, and community engagement into their daily operations. This award signifies that Stephen Knolls has made a commitment to developing stewards of the earth and reducing the environmental impact of the school.
