Arts and Technology
The goal of Arts and Technology is to encourage a lifetime of involvement and learning through the Practical, Fine and Performing Arts. Within the Arts and Technology department, you can find the courses such as Business classes, Art classes, Technology Education, Music, Family and Consumer Science (FACS) and Career Education.
John F. Kennedy High School’s Arts and Technology department celebrates the diversity of skills in our teachers, which allows us to offer a wide variety of courses. Due to our multiple areas of specialty, students at Kennedy can take advantage of a well rounded fine arts and/or practical arts education.
Our program infuses a study of arts and humanities and acknowledges the interconnectedness among disciplines of learning and promotes an understanding of human values through the humanities and human expression through the arts. This approach will foster decision-making, passion for learning, and character development. It will invite open-mindedness, risk-taking, and individual creative expression. All students will be encouraged to explore and develop their unique talents and to appreciate the talents of others.
The courses we offer range from Accounting to Band, Ceramics, Child Development, Cooperative Work Experience and On the Job Training, Digital Art, Drawing, Entrepreneurship, Foundations of Technology, Guitar, International Cultures and Cuisine, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, Painting, Photography, Piano, Pre-engineering, Printmaking, Sculpture, Software Applications, and Studio Art and more...
