We would like to bring your attention to a few important events happening this week. Please check out the details in the last edition of the CHOMPER for this school year. On Wednesday, June 14th, we will be celebrating our rising 6th graders with a clap-out at Glenallan at 2:30 pm. Later in the evening, at 6:30 pm, we will honor them during their promotion ceremony at Kennedy High School. It's a momentous occasion that marks their transition to the next phase of their educational journey. Please note that Friday, June 16th, is the last day of school and an early release day. This is a week of celebrations! Join us on June 8th for our CHOMPIONSHIP Assemblies. We will recognize our K-2 students at 9:15 am and grades 3-5 at 10:15 am. Glenallan Anti-Racist Audit Survey Results
Glenallan has a commitment to fostering learning environments in which all students, families and staff feel a sense of belonging. Recognizing the racial disparities that have persisted in how students experience school and access opportunities, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) worked collaboratively with the Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium (MAEC) to examine policies, practices and structures that must change to ensure schools create the conditions for all students to thrive. It’s hard to believe that June begins his week, and we have two weeks of school remaining! The year's final stretch will be eventful, with lots of excitement to come! Field Day for our Pre-K to 2nd-grade classes is Friday, June 2nd, and for grades 3-5 on Monday, June 5th. We are looking forward to fun-filled days for all! Career Day is this Friday, May 26th! Our school counselors, Ms. Taylor, and Ms. Davis, in collaboration with many of our families and community partners, have planned an amazing learning experience for our Gators! We are also grateful to the PTA for the return to in-person assemblies this year. On Wednesday, our students will "put on their capes" and hear about being Math Superheros! This week we will continue our spring emergency preparedness drills. We have a bus evacuation drill on Tuesday and shelter and lockdown drills on Wednesday.
