Administration

Principal Hambrecht    Natalie Hambrecht, Principal

Welcome to Cold Spring Elementary School!  I am honored and humbled to serve the students, staff, and families of this wonderful community.  Our work together will be defined by our intentional actions of building positive relationships and a robust and rigorous academic foundation that will allow for all students at Cold Spring to excel and succeed not only under our care in elementary school, but in years to come.  Together we will continue the excellence that has been a defining factor of Cold Spring Elementary!

I have been with Montgomery County Public Schools for the past seventeen years. I began my career as a second grade teacher at Highland Elementary School. Later I moved into the Academic Intervention position and then made the switch to the Staff Development role. I spent two years at Gaithersburg Elementary School as a part time Instructional Coach and part time English as a Second Language (ESOL) coach.  I then moved into administration where I became the Assistant Principal and then Principal Intern at Kensington Parkwood Elementary School.  Each career opportunity has presented amazing learning opportunities and most importantly beautiful relationships with students, staff, and community members.

I am proud to serve as one of the many school leaders in the Wootton cluster!  My commitment is to ensure that Cold Spring is an inclusive school community where we inspire academic success, creative thinking, and social responsibility for all students today, tomorrow and beyond.

I am a proud wife and mother. I have three daughters who keep me on my toes constantly, challenge my patience daily, and fill my life with love, joy, and pride.

I am confident you will find I bring energy, creativity, thoughtfulness, and passion to my daily work as your Principal.  I am eager to meet your children and collaborate with staff to determine best approaches to meet their unique needs.  I believe strong relationships are critical to our work together and I welcome the opportunity to begin forming these with you.

If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to call or send me an email.  Follow me on Twitter @NHambrecht to see our Cougar PAWS in action!

All the best,
Natalie Hambrecht, Principal

   Ben Legarreta, Assistant School Administrator

I am so excited to serve as the Assistant School Administrator for Cold Spring Elementary School. I will help facilitate communication and collaboration between teachers, parents, and students to ensure that we are meeting the unique needs of every child. My goal is for all students at Cold Spring Elementary to grow into caring and successful lifelong learners.

It is truly an honor to serve the amazing community that makes up the Wootton cluster! I am a proud product of Montgomery County Public Schools, and I am passionate about our area and our kids. This will be my 15th year serving in Montgomery County Public Schools.

I began my career teaching social studies at Newport Mill Middle School. After several years I became a Social Studies Content Specialist, and later served in that role at Briggs Chaney Middle School. In addition to teaching, I also developed a love for coaching soccer and wrestling. For the past two years I have returned to Newport Mill to serve as the Middle Years Programme Coordinator, which allowed me to oversee the instructional program of all subjects and grade levels. I hope to use my experience in secondary education to ensure that we are preparing all of our students for success at the next level.

I am also a proud husband and father to three wonderful children who will all be in elementary school next year. I love spending time outdoors with my family and exploring the wonderful parks and playgrounds of our area.

If you ever need any help or have any questions please call or email me so that I can assist you. I am excited for all of us to work together to provide the best to our students.
