World Languages Department

Learning a World language is every student's passport to acquiring 21st  Century skills, building relationships and engaging learning. It will allow them to be active participants of our global society; it offers our students the opportunity to strengthen their self-confidence in language and to explore the richness and diversity of another culture.

Learning any language is exciting and fun! And it is so relevant for today's world. Did you know that Spanish is the fourth most commonly spoken language in the world? That Vietnam's 2nd  language is French? That the United States has the fifth-largest Hispanic population in the world! Between both languages there are over 50 countries where Spanish & French are the main or 2nd  language spoken. Did you know that students who know a second language generally score higher on standardized tests than students who do not?

Here at BCMS, we offer students the opportunity to acquire authentic world language skills and knowledge. Students learn language and culture by participating in carefully-planned lessons, hands-on projects, speaking, & writing activities.

As natives and experienced teachers, we bring new innovative ideas to get our students to love and learn Spanish or French. Our new and exciting curriculum will engage students with games, videos, conversations and opportunities to share their learning and experiences with teachers, peers and parents.
We invite you to browse our page, get to know us and enjoy a little bit of the world around you!

Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I look forward to sharing that with you! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Language & Culture and a Master's Degree in Global Strategic Communications. My pursuit of language studies in academia and as a professional translator has given me many opportunities to travel and work all over the world including Spain, Italy, Peru, and the United Arab Emirates. I enjoy cooking, watching movies, and studying.
I love history, all of which are enhanced by my love of languages and culture. Exploring new places, meeting different people, and trying exotic foods are just a few fun reasons to dive into learning a new language and I'm happy to take this journey with you!
