Mission Statement
The members of James Hubert Blake High School Counseling Department are Professional School Counselors who are leaders in the school community. We seek to provide a wide variety of academic, social/emotional, college and career services to the entire student population. We are advocates for all students and help to facilitate individual development so that every student has the knowledge and skills necessary for academic success and personal growth.
Vision Statement
As members of the Counseling Department at James H. Blake High School, we envision a school that inspires and equips students with self-knowledge in the areas of social, emotional, academic, and career development which will enable them to make optimal choices for their futures.
Registration
The Blake High School course registration handbook is designed to give you an overview of the wide variety of courses we plan to offer in the upcoming school year. These include a balanced curriculum covering all State of Maryland requirements as well as a wide variety of exciting and challenging course options, including Advanced Placement, honors, and elective courses.
Dual Enrollment/Concurrent Enrollment
Dual Enrollment is available to advanced high school students admitted to Montgomery College (MC). Select students are enrolled in college courses while still attending high school, providing an educational experience beyond what is available at the secondary level. High school juniors and seniors who meet the College's Dual Enrollment (DE) standards may enhance their schedule with college course work and experience the independence of college-level study while also earning college credit.
